   This one phrase in the synopsis of your discussion outlines the greatest need and neglect in the modern Church, the gift of encouragement. I have been in churches for the most of my 50+ year life. I have been critistzed, beaten down, made to feel unworthy, my doctrine has been corrected and corrected again, but I can just about count on my two hands the number of times that the genuine gift of encouragement has been applied.

   For the past five years I have made it a point to encourage fellow men and woman to achieve their dreams and potential. I have found it amazing that people reach their potential far quicker with encouragement than with ANY type of critisizm. Even “constructive” critisizm is less effective than encouragement. I have found that I have made more friends and even when they make mistakes, they still return to me for more encouragement and help.

   Try it. It works wonders
