Reader email from Brad and Wayne’s recent podcast,“It’s Not About Church” and other related issues allows them to talk more in depth about the nature of ‘the box’ that ensnares people in religious ways of thinking about God instead of freeing them to live in relationship with him. In doing so they talk about how religion manipulates our shame instead of frees us from it, how it loads us up with obligations we can’t meet and how it seeks to provide a covering, when none is needed.
