2009 Retrospective

Nope, no podcast today. Brad and Wayne are still enjoying their end-of-the-year break, but they did want to wish a heartfelt “Happy New Year” to all their friends on The God Journey. All of us here pray this year will be full of new life and freedom as we all continue to grow in him and be increasingly transformed in his likeness.

Before we leave 2009 behind, however, we thought you might want enjoy a brief look back at the year that was.

“Knock! Knock!”
“Who’s there?”
“Orange.”
“Orange who?”
“Orange you glad we don’t have a video podcast?”

Imagine having to look at these expressions while trying to listen to the podcast, or even for Brad and Wayne to keep his next thought clear. You can click here or on the picture above to get a better look, if you want one that is! (Most of these must have come from their podcast on health care!)

Third Archive Disc Available

We just completed our third archive disc for listeners (or would-be listeners) of The God Journey. This disc includes the broadband mp3 files for the podcasts we did from from February 2007 through November 2007. What a year, too! We talked about sin, shame, reading the Scriptures without our religious glasses, reconciliation and free-range believers. We also hosted a variety of guests, including Paul Young, author of The Shack, Stan Firth, author of Custom and Command, Bob Stamps on The Lord’s Supper, Kevin Smith on living in Father’s care, and many others. If you haven’t heard them before, or just want to add them to your collection, you can order it from our Audio Collections.

iTunes Link Messed Up on Latest Podcast

Somehow our iTunes listing for the 11/10/06 podcast is pointing to our 11/03/06 podcast. If you listened to our latest one off of the links on our website or the blog you’ve heard the right one. If you have a subscription through iTunes, you probably got last week’s show. I don’t know how the other subscription services handled it. So we are reposting here so that those of you waiting for that podcast will get the right one. I’m sorry for the confusion. We’ll try to find the problem and hope it doesn’t come up again…

Inside the Studio

Ever wonder what it looks like around here when we tape a podcast?

The folks at Family Room Media put together this video for us from some of the taping they did in here last November.

We hope it not only gives you a picture of what it looks like when we’re doing this, but also the vision we have for this podcast.

Just click on the picture at left or the link here to download the Windows Media file (9.4 MB):

If you need the Window Media Player, you can download it free.

One of our listeners from Rhode Island sent us the following graphic! We had a good chuckle over it and hope you do too:

New Bulletin Board Is Open

We have opened a new bulletin board section on our website to accommodate even more dialog among our listeners. We hope our bulletin boards will facilitate three things: (1) more conversation among listeners about current or past podcats, (2) opportunity for people to suggest ideas for future podcats, and (3) to help listeners around the world connect with others in their own region. Check it out and join in if you like.

For Regular Listeners Only!

We hope you’re enjoying The God Journey and that it is encouraging and informative for your life in him. Brad and I have taped a special 3-minute audio clip for regular listeners who might want to consider helping us financially with this expanding endeavor. Don’t get nervous. Our podcast will always be available free of charge to anyone who wants to listen in and we know how critical that is with listeners joining us from eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and developing countries in Asia.

We are looking to open a dialog with those who feel led to help us in this way. We are not interested in people who would feel obligated to do so, or guilty if they didn’t. Believe me, we have a ball doing this podcast. However, we are looking for those who would be excited to help sponsor this resource and who share our passion to encourage people in this marvelous journey. Click here to find out more how you might help and to hear our brief audio clip.

Now, please forgive us for this intrusion. Let’s get back to The God Journey!
